ABOUT

Shubha Bhatt Bhasin is a theatre artist, director, designer, and creative practitioner with over a decade of experience across acting, direction, costume design, production, and theatre education. Her work spans stage and screen, combining performance, visual storytelling, and collaborative theatre-making.

As Vice President of Astita Foundation and its cultural wing, Drama Dropouts, she actively leads theatre initiatives, mentors emerging artists, and contributes to the development of contemporary performance practices. Currently pursuing formal training in theatre, she continues to expand her artistic vision through performance, direction, and research-based creative work.

  • Leading theatre and cultural initiatives through a registered NGO and its performing arts wing

  • Conceptualising, directing, and producing theatrical works and workshops

DIRECTION

Jinxed Oranges
Inspired by Commedia Dell’Arte and fused with North Indian comic traditions. Presented at Bharangam Theatre Festival, Bikaner Theatre Festival, and National Children’s Drama Festival (Karnataka).

Awakenings
Based on the work of Oliver Sacks. Opened the Windermere Theatre Festival and served as the closing production of Gorakhpur Rang Mahotsav (2024).

The Strawberry Wines
A dark comedy inspired by Arsenic and Old Lace, opening production of Bareilly Natya Mahotsav (2026).
