ABOUT

Lav Tomar is an Indian theatre director, playwright, and actor with over a decade of experience in contemporary theatre. As the founder of Drama Dropouts, he has been actively involved in creating original productions and literary adaptations that blend traditional Indian performance forms with modern storytelling.

His work explores themes of identity, memory, and socio-cultural narratives through a visually rich and performance-driven approach. He has collaborated with several practitioners associated with the National School of Drama (NSD), gaining exposure to diverse directing methodologies and stage practices.

KEY PRODUCTIONS & DIRECTION

Meeta! Panchlait Waale (2025)
A folk-inspired theatrical production based on works by Phanishwar Nath Renu, incorporating Nautanki music and rural storytelling traditions.
Performed at Bharat Rang Mahotsav (2026), Bikaner Theatre Festival (2026), Bareilly Natya Mahotsav (2025), Rashtriya Prayas Natya Mela (2026).

Kaghzi Hai Pairhan
A stage adaptation inspired by the life and writings of Ismat Chughtai.
Performed at Bikaner Theatre Festival & Winter Theatre Festival (2018).

Main Tum Hoon
An original theatrical work exploring identity and human connection.

Tras
A performance piece inspired by the life of Amrita Pritam.

Sherlock Holmes and the Hound of the Baskervilles
A stage adaptation of Arthur Conan Doyle’s classic mystery.

Dillagi
A comedy based on Munshi Premchand’s short story Vinod, set in 1970s college life.
Performed at Premchand Natya Mahotsav (2019).
